The process of designing a shift schedule is a rather complex task, as it requires taking multiple factors into consideration.<\/p>\n\n<p>There are multiple ways to make a daily distribution, therefore, this article is only an initial guide for you to design your own distribution.  <\/p>\n\n<p>It is important to note that each country has its own labor laws that you must respect. According to the calculation below, each shift requires a team of 5 people rotating and a sixth temporary member only for specific dates.  <\/p>\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Dividing the day into blocks  <\/h2>\n\n<p>The first thing we will do is to separate the day into 3 blocks:  <\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Morning: 07:45 to 16:15.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Afternoon: 15:45 to 00:15<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Night: 23:45 to 08:15  <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<p>This gives a working week of 45 hours distributed in 5 days.  <\/p>\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Snack time  <\/h2>\n\n<p>Regarding the meal schedule, due to the nature of the service, the only viable option with one person per shift is that it be provided at the work station. With 2+ people, the day can be extended to allocate a 30-60 minute snack block, in this scenario, snack times would be deferred between people in the same block.  <\/p>\n\n<p>Example: 2 people in the afternoon.  <\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The first leaves for lunch from 12:00 to 13:00.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The second leaves for lunch from 13:00 to 14:00.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<p>Service coverage is maintained for the entire block.  <\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/24cevent.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/Post-29.jpg\" alt=\"24x7 working day\" class=\"wp-image-2663\" width=\"600\" height=\"375\" srcset=\"https:\/\/24cevent.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/Post-29.jpg 800w, https:\/\/24cevent.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/Post-29-300x188.jpg 300w, https:\/\/24cevent.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/Post-29-768x480.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">24&#215;7 working day distribution<\/h2>\n\n<p>The proposed strategy is to work 5 days a week with 2 days off, but rotating each week:  <\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The work block: Morning &#8211;&gt; Evening &#8211;&gt; Afternoon  <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Days off: (Saturday, Sunday), (Friday, Saturday), (Thursday, Friday), (Wednesday, Thursday), (Tuesday, Wednesday), (Monday, Tuesday), (Monday, Sunday)  <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<p>In the following image we show you an example of how the distribution of the working day would look like in order to implement 24&#215;7 shifts with 5 people.  <\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"641\" height=\"564\" src=\"https:\/\/24cevent.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/image.png\" alt=\"Workday distribution\" class=\"wp-image-2573\" title=\"day-distribution\" srcset=\"https:\/\/24cevent.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/image.png 641w, https:\/\/24cevent.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/image-300x264.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 641px) 100vw, 641px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<p>The only caveat is the two &#8220;Nights&#8221; shown in white in the image. Since by law we are required to rest at least 2 Sundays per month, it is necessary to get 1 additional person to cover those specific shifts (depending on the number of weeks in the month).  <\/p>\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<p>Designing a 24&#215;7 shift schedule to enable your operations center, NOC or SOC is a challenging task. With this starting point, you can make adjustments and ensure compliance with all labor laws:  <\/p>\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Working hours of 45 hours per week maximum.  <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Do not work more than 6 consecutive days.  <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Do not work more than 10 hours in a day.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Rest of at least the same amount of hours worked.  <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>That at least 2 Sundays a month be Sundays off.  <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/mx.indeed.com\/orientacion-profesional\/desarrollo-profesional\/trabajar-noche-como-afecta-salud\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">This type of work is very strenuous and has several negative health implications<\/a>, so hopefully we can supplement the legal requirements with additional benefits.
